Join us for our May PTO meeting on Thursday, May 17 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in Building 1 in the 6th grade classroom. We will be voting in our 2012-13 officers, so now is the time to make your voice heard. As usual, we’ll also have snacks!

Welcome to the Austin Discovery School Parent-Teacher Organization website.

The ADSPTO is a great way to get connected with other parents, join in fun parent-led events, and volunteer to make our kids’ school an even better place.

PTO meetings are generally held the third Thursday of the month in the evening. These are our formal meetings where community discussion takes place, committees report and voting occurs. We also host a First Friday Coffee Chat (FFCC) on the morning of the first Friday of the month for a more relaxed, informal discussion.

Supporting the school’s foundational goals is a focus of the PTO, and we accomplish this by raising funds to supplement the school’s budget, and by providing an organized corps of parent volunteers to help in the school’s areas of greatest need.

The ADS PTO raises funds through our events. Throughout the school year, we sponsor a variety of events that give families opportunities to have fun and get to know one another outside the school.  In the past, we’ve held dances, gone bowling, had family nights at local restaurants, gone swimming, gone to a baseball game, had a few skate parties, and even had a talent show!
